Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence (BI) is the ability of an organization to collect, maintain, and organize data.  This produces large amounts of information that can help develop new opportunities.  Identifying these opportunities, and implementing an effective strategy, can provide a competitive market advantage and long term stability.

BI is an umbrella term describing the people, processes, and technologies which turn data into insights driving business decisions and actions.  Business Intelligence includes:

  • Partnerships with people
  • Thoughtful listening, respectful questioning, humbly seeking to understand what they do
  • Application of context
  • Creating opportunities to consolidate data, distribute information and contribute to a culture of data-driven decision making in support of the institution and its missions
