The LEAPForward Academic Information Environment (AIE) and Supporting Systems vendor presentations were held the first two weeks of June. Oracle and Ellucian were the two vendors who presented. The product evaluation phase is officially underway for the AIE and Supporting Systems Request for Proposal (RFP). Throughout the evaluation process, the Steering Team Committee and the LEAPForward project team will work with an evaluation committee to score the responses and recommend the new vendor(s) to the Board of Trustees.
The Academic Information Environment (AIE) and Supporting Systems Request for Proposal (RFP) has been published by the State of Illinois Procurement Office for vendors to review and respond. The AIE RFP will be used to find the vendor(s) with systems to replace the mainframe applications and student information systems. An active ULID is required to view the RFP.
Over the next few weeks, LEAPForward will be hosting Focus Groups for faculty members. The focus group’s will be held on February 6th and 7th from 2:30-4:00pm. As part of our initiative, we will conduct the focus groups to discover opportunities, improvements and value that can be delivered by a new Student Information System and Business Intelligence Tools.

On Tuesday night the LEAPForward Department hosted IT student groups for an informational night and pizza. The students viewed presentations on an overview of LEAP, Business Process Management, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Resource Management. Students also participated in scavenger hunt which allowed them to explore the building and test out innovative technology. The students asked a lot of questions and seemed to really enjoy their experience.
We would like to take a quick second to thank everyone who came out in the rain and attended our Open House on Tuesday. Pictures on the event are posted on our Facebook page, so be sure to check them out! Though we had many completed scavenger hunt forms, we would like to congratulate Molly Munson-Dryer, Stacy Ramsey, and Christy West whose names were drawn as winners!
Thank you again to everyone who came out, and we hope that you had a great time, and learned a thing or two.
The LEAPForward team is happy to announce a new addition to our lobby – FourWinds! FourWinds is interactive software that is used to build interactive touch screen displays. The Bone Student Center utilizes the same FourWinds software with a different template design. The LEAPForward display will be used as an informational tool for the building. It will include ways to get involved, a timeline of the initiative, photographs of past events, upcoming events, and information about each part of the initiative.
The Professional Development Building has undergone some significant renovations the past few months. Now that renovations are complete, we would like to invite members of the campus community in to showcase our building. The Open House will be November 6, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm. We would also like to use the Open House as an opportunity to provide educational insight into the areas of LEAPForward. The schedule for the Open House is as follows:
