In spirit of students arriving back on campus and moving in to the residence halls this week, the LEAP Department is excited to announce that we have moved!
Though the rest of Administrative Technologies is housed in Julian Hall, the LEAP Department has made a move across campus to the Professional Development Building. The Professional Development Building (or PDB) opened in 1993 and previously housed the Mennonite College of Nursing.
The renovation of the PDB is being done in phases. Phase 1 was the preparation and completion of the LEAP staff’s offices, designed for teamwork and collaboration the space is equipped with whiteboard painted walls, a conference room, and a break room. As the LEAP department grows in the coming months and years, having our own space will be critical to the overall success of the project.
We are very excited to be settled into our new home, and we are looking forward to seeing what the future stages of renovation bring to our building.
I am from Mahomet, IL where I attended high school and graduated in 2006. I attended Parkland College and received my Associate of Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design. In 2008, I transferred to ISU and in 2011 I received my Bachelors of Science with a concentration in Graphic Communications. I am currently finishing up my Masters in Project Management at ISU and will receive my degree in December 2012.
Favorite Part of the New Location:
My favorite part about LEAP’s new location is sharing an office with my fellow colleagues. All of our personalities combined in one room leads to great team collaboration and interesting side conversations.
If I was a kitchen utensil, what would I be and why?
I would be a balloon whisk, they are pretty funky and they make everything light and fluffy!
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
If I could be any animal I would be a monkey. Monkeys are smart and funny. Also, they get to swing from trees all day.
