On March 2, students admitted for the Fall 2015 semester began accessing the Housing and Dining application on the fully live StarRez student portal, with more than 1,000 students successfully signing contracts and submitting initial housing deposits using the new system. In addition, returning students were able to access the system March 9.
StarRez was selected as the vendor last fall, and since September the team has been working to implement the new system. Overall, the system will enhance the Housing and Dining process for students and staff. The online application process will be much more integrated, giving incoming and returning students the ability to create personal student profiles and select roommates online. The application will also integrate with Student Information System (SIS), allow helpers to check students in and out using iOS devices during move-in days, and generate student reports more easily and efficiently.
